PART-TIME DRIVERS ED INSTRUCTOR – The instructor will be responsible for teaching new drivers fundamental skills and basic knowledge about operating a motor vehicle. The program consists of 30 hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.
Minimum degree qualifications: High School diploma and/or some post-secondary training
Licenses/Certifications Required: Valid GA Driver’s License and Department of Driver Services (DDS) Driver Training Instructor Certification
Skills Required: Clean driving record; knowledge of traffic safety/traffic laws, experience working with teenaged students and diverse clientele, basic computer skills, excellent communication, classroom, and driving skills, and good judgment and patience while driving
Preferred Qualifications: DDS Driver Training Certification, teaching experience, education beyond high school, Certified National Safety Council Defensive Driving instructor and/or willingness to seek certification
Additional Information:
Must be available to work nights and weekends
May involve travel outside of Oconee county to Barrow, Clarke, Oglethorpe, and/or Walton counties
Work hours may vary by week
Compensation based on experience

This FREE Parent Workshop outlines the steps for your teen to obtain his or her Class D driver’s license. We’ve had a great response in the past and we would love to help you and your family through this often confusing process. At this workshop we will be covering information about the licensing process, teen driving safety, and providing a driving simulation demonstration. Open Road Services provides students with high quality, convenient and comprehensive driver services. Our company doesn’t just focus on providing a driver’s education class, but developing safe young drivers.We strive to provide 21st Century Driver’s Ed with courses that include hazard recognition, simulation, interactive curriculum, and parent involvement. We are the only commerical driving school in Georgia endorsed by Alan Brown, the author of Joshua’s Law which requires teens to take driver’s education when they are 16! We feel that all students deserve to have access to high quality driver’s ed because it is a skill students will use for the rest of their life and driving is the most dangerous thing we do on a daily basis.
In addition to providing driver’s education courses, Open Road Services is also available to host driving safety events. We have a portable driving simulator that we could bring to local events that demonstrates the dangers of distracted and impaired driving. Our simulator has been featured on “The Doctors” and “Dr. Oz”. We have recently hosted events at the NOHS/OCHS and Clarke/Cedar football games, and we work closely with Prince Ave Christian School as well.
We also conduct free informational parent sessions on the “ins and outs” of the teen licensing process. Parents can attend these sessions to see a driving simulation demonstration and receive discount coupons for upcoming driver education courses. Our next parent workshop is scheduled for Monday, April 23rd from 6-8 pm.

Nov. 2nd FREE Parent Seminar with Guest Speaker, Alan Brown

We will be hosting a teen driving safety parent seminar at North Oconee High School on November 2nd from 6-7:30pm. Alan Brown, the author of Joshua’s law (Joshua’s Dad), and teen driving safety advocate, will be speaking to parents about how to keep kids safe on the road and the importance of credible driver’s education in our community. We are excited that he has agreed to help us with an event. We will also be talking about driver’s ed and conducting a driving simulation demonstration.
This is a FREE event for parents of teens who are driving, and those about to begin this process.
We feel this will be a valuable event for parents in our community. He is truly passionate about this cause and has an incredible testimony to share with parents. I hope all of you can attend!
Parents will receive a coupon for 15% off either driver’s ed or defensive driving courses. We want to encourage parents to attend, so this will be our largest discount of the year.

Driving Simulator Demonstration at Local Football games

We are gearing up for the summer! We have many courses scheduled for June and July! We have all Risk Reduction, Defensive Driving, and Driver’s Education courses available during the next 2 months. Check out our schedule and register for a class today!!
We are excited to start our partnership with Prince Ave Christian School next week. We will offer our first Driver’s Education course at the school next week. We will offer another course which will begin on July 5th.
